Introduction
Data protection is important to the Swiss Institute of Navigation. Through this Privacy Policy, ION-CH provides information on the most important aspects of its processing of personal data.
Whenever it handles personal data, ION-CH complies with the applicable Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
Responsibility
Responsible to comply to the applicable law is the ION-CH committee. All questions in connection with this Privacy Policy and the Processing of Personal Data, as well as all requests for the exercise of the right to information and other rights to which the data subjects are entitled, should be directed to the following address info@ion-ch.ch.
Collection and use of personal data
We process the personal data that you provide to us for association purposes or for participating to our events. In this context, we process in particular information that you voluntarily provide to us when you contact us (e.g. by post, e-mail, contact form, registration form or telephone) or when you register as a member of the ION-CH. The processed data is not particularly sensitive data within the meaning of Art. 3 FADP.
Every person has the right, upon request and free of charge, to receive information about the personal data that has been collected, stored and processed about them. In addition, there is the right to correct incorrect data, block and delete personal data, provided that there is no legal obligation to retain such data.
Personal data of third parties
If you transmit personal data of third parties to us, you are obliged to guarantee data protection vis-à-vis the third parties and to ensure the accuracy of the personal data.
Processing of personal data by third parties
We may have personal data processed by authorised third parties or process it jointly with third parties or with the help of third parties or transmit it to third parties. The third parties are providers whose services we utilise. We also guarantee appropriate data protection for such third parties.
Data security
We take appropriate and suitable technical and organisational measures to ensure data protection and, in particular, data security.
Use of the website (cookies and server log files)
We may use cookies for our website. Cookies – both our own cookies (first-party cookies) and cookies from third parties whose services we use (third-party cookies) – are data that are stored in your browser. Such stored data need not be limited to traditional cookies in text form.
Cookies can be stored temporarily in your browser when you visit our website as ‘session cookies’ or for a certain period of time as so-called permanent cookies. ‘Session cookies’ are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Permanent cookies have a specific storage period. In particular, they make it possible to recognise your browser the next time you visit our website and thus, for example, to measure the reach of our website. Permanent cookies can also be used for online marketing.
You can completely or partially deactivate and delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
We may collect the following information each time you access our website, provided that this information is transmitted by your browser to our server infrastructure or can be determined by our web server: Date and time including time zone, IP address, access status, operating system including user interface and version, browser including language and version, individual sub-pages of our website accessed including the amount of data transferred, and finally the website accessed in the same browser window.
We store such information, which may also constitute personal data, in server log files. The information is required to provide our online services in a permanent, user-friendly and reliable manner and to ensure data security and thus in particular the protection of personal data – also by third parties or with the help of third parties.
Notifications and messages
We send notifications and messages by e-mail and via other communication channels.
Notifications and messages may contain web links or tracking pixels that record whether a message has been opened and which web links have been clicked on. Such web links and tracking pixels can also record the use of notifications and messages on a personalised basis. We require this statistical recording of usage for measuring success and reach in order to be able to offer notifications and messages in an effective, user-friendly, permanent, secure and reliable manner based on the needs and reading habits of the recipients.
Final provisions
We may amend and supplement this privacy policy at any time. We will provide information about such amendments and additions in an appropriate form, in particular by publishing the current privacy policy on our website.
