DESCRIPTION:Identifying Aerodynamics of Small Fixed-Wing Drones Using Inertial Measurements for Model-Based Navigation \npresented by Aman Sharma\, PhD Candidate EPFL \nThe success of drone missions is incumbent on an accurate determination of the drone pose and velocity\, which are collectively estimated by fusing inertial measurement unit and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) measurements. However\, during a GNSS outage\, the long-term accuracy of these estimations are far from allowing practical use. In contrast\, vehicle dynamic model (VDM)-based navigation has demonstrated significant improvement in autonomous positioning during GNSS outages. This improvement is achieved by incorporating mathematical models of aerodynamic forces/moments in the sensor fusion architecture. Such an approach\, however\, relies on a knowledge of aerodynamic model parameters\, specific to the operating vehicle. We present a novel calibration algorithm to identify these parameters from the flight data of two geometrically different drones. The identified parameters\, when used in the VDM framework\, show a significant reduction in navigation drift during GNSS outages. DESCRIPTION:Zum Programm\nProceedings\n\n\n\nDas Schweizerische Institut für Navigation (ION-CH) organisiert gemeinsam mit seinen Partnervereinen aus Deutschland (DGON) und Österreich (OVN) die Dreiländertagung AHORN 2022 – der Alpenraum und seine Herausforderungen im Bereich Orientierung\, Navigation und Informationsaustausch.  \nThemenbereiche\nDie Themenbereiche von AHORN 2022 umfassen in erster Linie Anwendungsgebiete von Navigations-\, Erdbeobachtungs-\, Geoinformation- und Kommunikationstechnologien im Alpenraum. Themen können sein: \n\nKlimawandel in den Alpen (Naturschutz und Jagd)\nKatastrophenschutz (Rutschungen\, Wildbach- und Lawinenverbauung)\nSearch and Rescue (Vermisstensuche\, Bergung von Alpinopfern\, Notrufdienste)\nPistendienste / Snow Management\nTourismus (Skitouren\, Wanderungen)\, Verkehr\, dynamische Information\n\nZiel ist die wissenschaftliche Behandlung des Themenbereichs sowie die Vorstellung praktischer Anwendungsbereiche und Referenzprojekte. Die Tagung soll eine interessante Mischung aus theoretischen und praktischen Beiträgen bieten. \nVorträge\nMit dem Call for Papers laden wir Sie ein\, Ihren Tagungsbeitrag in Kurzfassung (maximal 1/2 Seite DIN A4) in elektronischer Form bis zum 30. September 2022 7. November 2022 einzureichen (der call for papers ist nun geschlossen).   \nInhalt der Kurzfassung: \n\nTitel des Vortrags\nName(n) des/der Autors(en)\nName des Vortragenden\ne-mail Adresse\nOrganisation / Firma\nPostanschrift\, Telefon\n\nAutoren werden über zugelassene Beiträge bis Anfang November 2022 informiert. \nProgramm\nDas Programm wird laufend aktualisiert: Link Programm. \nAnmeldeschluss ist der 7.
